  4. I was putting on massive weight but was always hungry. I tried out a new plan, i can eat any food or treats i want, but the only liquid i can drink is water. After a few days i noticed fast food is worthless without the coke combo. Sweets and chocolates are great but its nothing compared to liquid sugars. The brain isnt that interested in sugar unless its a drink. After 2 weeks im now interested in fruits and healthy eating. Im not sure if this will work, my stomach is shrinking but im trying not to focus too much on goals and just enjoying exploring new cravings. Looking for some yummy dips to go with vegetables now.

  6. When I Googled if plums are a healthy food, I liked what I read and felt like I was doing something really good for my body by eating them. If you research the quality of your food BEFORE you eat it, you’ll either enjoy eating it much more or look for something else to eat. Try it!

    Plums are a very nutritious fruit. Both plums and prunes are an excellent source of vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants. Additionally, they have several characteristics that may reduce the risk of many chronic diseases, such as osteoporosis, cancer, heart disease and diabetes.
    In other words, green light!

    Are Chips Bad for You?
    Sadly, the answer to the question “Are chips bad for you?” is a definitive yes. As Boston-based nutritionist Laura Hartung says, “Most chips offer little to no nutritional value and are basically fried carbs full of fat with a little added salt.”
    In other words, red light!

    So you decide what you want to eat based on your research. It’s very empowering and even fun!

  10. How do I create a strong enough Why? My habits and cravings have been very strong and usually the times I changed were when I was really overwhelmed by self-hatred or a health scare, but the emotions attached to those fade. The diet spiral has tired me out so much that the thought of "wouldn’t it be nice to look like… wouldn’t it be nice to fit into … wouldn’t it be great to be able to keep up during workouts…." simply doesn’t feel as rewarding as a nice meal at the end of a frustrating day of no fun anymore.

  11. It’s great that you mentioned the restriction and deprivation thoughts they are huge for me! Whenever I try to do something slightly restricting or contains too much planning I feel so suffocated and I quit really quickly.

  15. I spiral back into my junk food habits every time I get overwhelmed, exhausted, tired and stressed by life. I noticed going to bed early helped for a while, but noticed the more I hated going to work, the later I went to bed and the later I got up and then I stuffed junk food down my throat again. Any advice on staying on track and working on those more subtle everyday issues?

  17. Excellent tip list! i just discovered intuitive eating and listened to a talk on it by one of the authors who is very funny. She said ‘you’re not a bad person because you had a piece of apple pie!" and THAT is the dieter’s mentality. Thanks again!

  19. I’ve done calorie counting on and off for the past couple of years and haven’t got many results so I’m going to try and switch from calorie counting to just being conscious of what I’m eating and how much.
